LACTATE LEVEL AND 1Н NMR METABOLIC RATIO LACTATE/CREATINE IN HUMAN GASTRIC CANCER AND PROGNOSIS OF DISEASE OUTCOME

Kovelska A.V., Boldeskul I.Ye., Bubnovska L.M.

It was provided the comparative analysis of lactate levels in gastric cancer as well as in surrounding mucous determined by biochemical method and 1H NMR spectroscopy of tissue perchloric acid extracts with the aim to elucidate the possibility to use the 1H NMR metabolic ratio Lac/Cr as reliable index of tissue lactate level. Obtained data confirmed that tissue lactate level may be reliably evaluated with 1H NMR metabolic ratio Lac/Cr. 1H NMR spectroscopy of perchloric acid extracts of surgical tumor specimens and 1H NMR spectroscopy in vivo (NMR imaging) may be suitable for presurgical diagnosis as a marker for prognosis of disease outcome and for individualization of antitumor therapy.
