THE HISTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF THE EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX OF TUMORS AND HOMOCYSTEINE CONTENT IN BLOOD PLASMA OF BREAST CANCER PATIENTS
The extracellular matrix (ECM) in the samples of fibroadenoma (FA), fibroadenomatosis (FAM) and breast cancer (BC) resected in 62 patients were analysed histochemically. The blood content of homocysteine in these patients was assayed. The various types of glycosoaminoglicans in FA and FAM were demonstrated while the chondroitinesulphate A and C or sulphomucynes prevail in BC. The qualitative changes of collagen fibrils or their destruction and lysis in BC were observed. The correlation between collagen IV expression and elastolysis and homocysteine content in blood plasma was demonstrated.
