EFFICACY OF AN ANTI-TUMOR VACCINE AND ITS IMPACT ON THE IMMUNOLOGICAL PROFILE OF PATIENTS WITH BRAIN MALIGNANCIES

Bombin A.V.

The paper presents findings showing clinical and immunological impact of an anti-tumor autovaccine produced with the help of cytotoxic lectin from В. subtilis B-7025 and applied as part of combined treatment of brain malignancies (45 patients). Autovaccine is shown to improve the 24-month survival of patients, decrease manifestations of imbalance in the immune system (by normalizing the contents and ratios of T-, B-, (CD 4+/ CD 8+) lymphocytes, natural killer cells), improve the functional activities of phagocyting cells and serum IgA, IgM, IgG concentrations, suggesting a positive impact on cellular and humoral immunity as well as non-specific anti-tumor reactions.
