LYMPHOMAS AND BONE METASTASIS
Ponomareva O., Bondarouk O., Ogorodnikova N., Cheshuk V., Zajchuk V.
Bone involvement limphogranulomatosis and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas usually occurs in late course of the illness, together with extensive nodal involvement. In the past several years, we have seen 10 patients (7 with limphogranulomatosis and 3 with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma), who represented primary disease with primary bone lesions. 15 patients had relapse of disease with disseminated lymphoid and bone involvement. Patients with bone lesions had positive responses to combined-modality therapy including clodronate. The patient characteristics are discussed and the diagnostic difficulties are emphasized. Lymphomas should be considered in the differential diagnosis of primary osseous malignancies.
