MALIGNANT GASTROINTESTINAL EPITHELIAL TUMORS IN CHILDREN

The modern state of the problem of treating children with gastrointestinal eithelial malignancies (EGM) is reviewed. Findings are resented of treating children with the above-mentioned atholog in the Belarus Reublic between 1997 and 2005. Out of the total number of 11 children, 7 were subjected to radical surger. One atient with multile metastases to lungs was additionall exosed to total herthermia. Nine children were subjected to olchemothera. The 5-ear event-free survival rate was 27%. Our exerience suggests about extremel aggressive course of EGM in children. A radical surger is still the onl one efficient method for treatment. The role of neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemothera in this rare malignancies in children is obscure and needs further investigation.
