INFORMATION VALUE OF СА15-3 MARKER IN BREAST CANCER

СА15-3 marker is of a fairly high information value; and it can be monitored with the view to assess the efficacy of breast cancer treatment. However, it is essential to assess this marker in dynamics: before treatment, after surgery and during adjuvant therapy. The key factor for forecasting is not the fact of decrease in the marker’s level but the degree of such decrease. Our findings as well as findings reported by other authors suggest that the level of СА15-3 should decrease by at least 50% compared to baseline for the forecast to be optimistic.
