RENAL CARCINOMA: TRADITIONAL AND POTENTIALLY PRODUCTIVE APPROACHES TO MEDICINAL THERAPY
The paper reviews modern treatment approaches to renal cell carcinomas (RCC). Data of clinical studies of interferon, interleukin 2, bevacizumab and other medicines used in this pathology are presented. It is shown that therapy modalities involving angiogenesis blockers are advantageous as they help increase the patients’ survival. A case of combined treatment of metastasizing RCC with chemotherapy and bevacizumab (Avastin) is described.
