A rare case of myelomatosis pleuritis in a pa tient with multiple myeloma is reported. With the help of such techniques as immunoelectrophoresis, immu noprecipitation, enzymeimmunoassay with monoclo nal antibodies produced in the Biotechnology Labo ratory of the Crimea State Medical University, as well as lectinenzyme immunoassay, monoclonal IgG isola ted from the pleural fluid was showed to be identical to paraprotein from blood serum of the same patient. Our findings suggest that these monoclonal antibodies can be used for paraprotein typing, as well as for diagnostics of complications of multiple myeloma and other hema topoietic tissue malignancies accompanied by monoclo nal immunoglobulin secretion.
