SPECIFIC PATTERNS OF THE EXPRESSION OF P53, BCL-2 AND RECEPTOR TYROSYNE KINASES IN STOMACH CANCER

The paper presents findings of an immunohis- tochemical analysis of the expression of apoptosis regulating proteins (p53, Bcl-2) and receptor tyrosine kinase (EGFR, Her2/neu) in 150 stomach tumors. The level of expression of the markers analyzed is shown to correlate with the tumor’s histological type, presence of regional metastases, degree of involvement of the stomach walls, stage of disease and the patient’s lifespan.
