THE PERSPECTIVE WAYS TO IMPROVE THE ANAL CANAL TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

Lyalka I.Y., Shevchenko H.N., Udatova T.V., Gubska V.Z.

The unique treatment approach for patients with squamous cell carcinoma of anal canal was developed. It is based on the combination of radiotherapy with modifying effect of anticancer drugs (capecitabinum and tegafur), and pro-apoptotic, anti- proliferative and anti-metastatic action of recombinant interferon alfa-2b. Complete tumour regression was observed for 83% of patients. In other cases partial regression was detected. Radiotherapy-induced remote complications and progression of the disease were not detected in 6 to 24 months upon treatment.
