THE POSSIBILITIES OF DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES IN LOCALLY ADVANCED ESOPHAGEAL CARCINOMA
Analysis of results of clinical examination and surgery of 138 patients suffering from esophageal carcinoma was conducted. Patients were divided in to 2 groups according to the applied diagnostic techniques: 67 patients were in control group and 71 — in the investigated. The protocol of clinical examination in control group included ultrasound investigation and computer tomography, and for investigated group diagnostic video laparoscopy (DVL) and diagnostic video thoracoscopy (DVT) were added to the protocol. Advanced protocol of clinical examination allowed to adequate definite the prevalence and resectability of malignant process. Resectability increases up and frequency of repeated explorative surgeries significantly decreases due to including DVL and DVT in the protocol of clinical examination.
