Hyperthermia (HT) is one of the most efficient modifiers of the antitumor therapy and it has increasingly been in the focus of oncologists’ attention. The paper summarizes information about totalbody and local HT applied in combination with chemotherapy, as well as data on indications and counterindications for HT and possible complications. New treatment technologies are analyzed which include combination of cytoreductive surgery and intracavitary perfusion of chemodrugs in local HT. These methods are applied in disseminated malignant processes in the abdominal and pleural cavities. The authors proposed an original method for intrapleural perfusion chemotherapy as a monotherapy or in combination with surgery. This method for the first time applied repeated sessions of intrapleural perfusion chemotherapy in malignant disseminated processes in the pleural cavity.
