EFFECT OF INTRAOPERATIVE TUMOR CRYODESTRUCTION ON CIRCULATING TUMOR CELLS AND LIFE SPAN OF PATIENTS WITH LUNG CANCER
The dynamics of tumor cells (TC) occurrence in regional blood in 40 patients with peripheral lung cancer in process of surgical intervention with intraoperative cryodestruction of tumor was studied. Before carrying out of cryodestruction the TC were detected in regional venous blood in 17 (42,5%) patients, after destruction – in 8 (20%), meanwhile TC changed their morphological characteristics. It was revealed that application of tumor cryodestruction increases 5-year survival rate of patients twofold. Obtained results give evidence to suppose that intraoperative cryodestruction of lung cancer decreases risk of metastasis at the expense of TC decrease of dissemination and their vital capacity.
