NATIONAL CANCER REGISTRY OF UKRAINE: 15-YEAR EXPERIENCE

The paper analyzes the experience of establishing the first in Ukraine automated medical sector registry — the Cancer Registry (CR) of Ukraine — and its operation. Information is provided on the main objectives of the registry, formalized medical documents that ensure registration of malignant neoplasm, information flows in the CR’s population structure, and the data quality assurance system. The issues are outlined which need to be resolved with the view of maximizing the benefits of the CR’s informational capacities for scientific research and practical programs aiming to combat malignancies.
