CLINICAL, MORFOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOPHENOTYPIC CHARACTERIZATION OF LYMPHOBLASTIC LYMPHOMA IN CHILDREN
We analyzed clinical symptoms and features of the malignant cells in 24 children suffering from lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL). Rapid aggressive course of the disease, high incidence of the nodal (in 87% of the patients, lesion of mediastinum in 42%) and extranodal manifestations with the compression syndrome, bone marrow involvement (25%), presence of the malignant effusions was observed. Diagnosis of LBL is based on the findings of tumor substrate histological research. The detection of LI or L2 lymphoblasts in the affected tissue imprints, in the bone marrow, in effusions or in spinal fluid is of complementary meaning. By the immunophenotypic features malignant cells in LBL are similar to lymphoblasts in acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, which allows to separate LBL from T- or B-precursor cells.
