EVOLUTION OF CLINICAL PROBLEMS IN BREAST CANCER AND THE MODERN ONCOLOGY PROGRESS

The history of breast cancer diagnostics and treatment is very significant for understanding of the modern oncology progress. Breast cancer is one of the most widened localizations of tumors in the world. All innovations in the clinical oncology (diagnostics, treatment, organization) were approbated on this model. Nowaday we use in the breast cancer treatment all known methods – surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormonotherapy, biological therapy. Lviv oncological clinic deals with breast cancer since 1946 year and we have the experience of treatment nearly 20 000 patients. In this article the experience of our clinic is presented on the background of achievements and perspectives of world oncology. Some future perspectives of breast oncology are discussed.
