STEM TUMOR CELLS MALIGNANT GLIOMAS

The article present the latest dates about tumor stem sells with were identified in malignant gliomas. Tumor stem cells have similar capacities to normal neural stem cells of brain. They express CD133+ marker molecule and are able to migrate and penetrate from tumor into the normal tissue. They cause recidives and recurrent tumor growth. These tumor stem cells are chemically and radio resistant and they lead to tumor growth in immunodeficity animals in the experiments. Tumor stem cells are a new subject for investigation and development of new treatment strategies gliomas brain.
