Changes of geomagnetic activity during the gametegenesis and embryogenesis of 5273 people born at 1903–1998 withdiagnosedthyroidcancerat 1979–2006 were analyzed in comparison with the same parameters of the control group from Ukrainian population. Either at men and women risk of thyroid cancer depends from geomagnetic activity, which is decreased at 4 week after a week of conception (p = 0,0025 by Wilcoxon criterion) of diseased people. At this stage of prenatal development a thyroid gland is starting to form, thus its structures are especially sensitive to the external factors. That is why decreased geomagnetic activity may become a risk factor of the thyroid cancer.
