Koval S.V.1, Rodionova N.K.2

The information on morbidity of certain forms of cancer (hemoblastosis) in the adult population of Ukraine during the post-Chernobyl period was systematized and analyzed based on the data of the annual bulletins of the National Cancer Registry of Ukraine and the digests “Indicators of the Hematological Service of Ukraine” (IHS of Ukraine) published by the State Institute of Blood Pathology and Transfusion Medicine, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine. Considerable emphasis is placed on the analysis of morbidity not only taking into account the patients’ sex but also their places of residence based on the division of Ukraine regions into radioactively contaminated and conditionally clean. This allows approximately estimate the possible impact of small doses of ionizing radiation on the overall dynamics of hemoblastosis incidences in the long term after the Chernobyl accident.
