IL-2 ROLE IN ACUTE LYMPHOBLAST LEUKEMIA IN CHILDREN

Dubey L.Y.

Immunochemiluminiscent technique was applied to measure IL-2 levels in the blood of 87 children with acutelymphoblastic leukemia(ALL). High IL-2 levels were found in both at the onset of ALL and in relapses. A close relationship was revealed between the level of serum IL-2 and the number of blast cells in the peripheral blood. This relationship was the strongest before the beginning of cytostatic treatment anda bitweakerinre lapses, regardless of the remoteness of the latter. The findings suggest that IL-2 may play a role of a prognostic immunologic marker showing the course of ALL in children.
