EFFICACY OF ZOLEDRONATE IN METASTATIC BONE DISEASE MANAGEMENT FOR PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT PRIMARY TUMORS

Bone is a frequent site of metastases of the most common tumors, e. g., breast carcinoma and prostate carcinoma. It is the cause of much morbidity and decreased quality of life in these patients. Bisphosphonates are known to be effective in preventing and treating skeleton-related events and cancer-induced hypercalcemia of malignant neoplasms, via reduction of osteoclastic activity. The aim of this article is review of our opinion in management of metastatic bone disease using zoledronate.
